Skip hire companies in Cheshire: local skip hire quotes, coming soon

Skips for house clearances, building work, gardens and waste removal: how to find and compare local skip hire companies in Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach and across Cheshire, and how skip hire companies can win work.

Honest status: QuoteZila is pre-launch. Customers cannot post jobs yet, and no businesses are listed yet. This page explains how QuoteZila will work for skip hire companies, and for homeowners who need one. We are signing up local businesses first, starting in Cheshire.

What does a skip hire company do?

A skip hire company delivers a skip to your property, leaves it for you to fill, then collects and disposes of the waste. Typical jobs include:

  • Mini and midi skips for small clear-outs
  • Builders' skips for renovation work
  • Garden waste skips
  • Roll-on roll-off containers for larger sites
  • Skips with wait-and-load
  • Rubble and soil skips

What should I check before hiring a skip hire company?

General guidance, whichever way you find someone:

  • If the skip has to go on a public road, you normally need a permit from the council. Ask the company whether they arrange it.
  • Ask what you may and may not put in the skip, as some items such as plasterboard, asbestos, tyres and electricals are treated differently.
  • Ask about the hire period and what happens if you need it for longer.
  • Check that the company is a registered waste carrier.

QuoteZila plans to show customers what we checked about each business and when. Those labels describe checks only and are not a guarantee of any business or its work.

How will QuoteZila help me find skip hire companies near me?

  1. Post your job for free. Describe the skip hire work and where you are.
  2. Matched local businesses send quotes. Each job is planned to go to a small number of suitable businesses, not the whole town.
  3. Compare. See what each quote includes, ask questions and review what has been checked.
  4. Choose. Pick who you want and agree the details in writing.

This is how QuoteZila is designed to work. Customer posting is not open yet.

What should I put in my skip hire company job description?

  • Say what size you think you need, or describe the waste and the volume.
  • Say where it will be placed: drive, garden or road.
  • Give the delivery date and how long you need it.
  • Mention any difficult access, such as low branches or narrow gates.

Are you a skip hire company in Cheshire? How can you get local work with no lead fees?

QuoteZila is built so that local businesses spend their time quoting, not buying enquiries. Our intention is no lead fees: you would not pay per enquiry, per job or per quote. The first 500 businesses to join at launch (the Launch 500) get 2 months free with no card needed. After that the planned price is £15 a month, starting later and only once you accept the terms. That is our current plan, not a contract. Choose Skip hire as your main trade on the sign-up form and tell us how far you travel.

Which Cheshire towns will QuoteZila cover?

We are launching first in Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach, Congleton, Winsford, Middlewich, and the wider county. See the Cheshire areas page for details. A launch area is where we plan to start, not a claim that skip hire companies are already listed there.

Frequently asked questions about skip hire companies

What size skip do I need?

It depends on how much waste you have. Describe the job and the amount, and the business can recommend a size. It is usually better to choose slightly bigger than you think.

Do I need a permit to put a skip on the road?

Normally yes, if it is on a public highway, and the permit comes from the highway authority. Ask the company whether they handle this or if you must apply.

Can I find a skip hire company on QuoteZila yet?

Not yet. QuoteZila is pre-launch and is signing up local businesses first, starting in Cheshire. Customer job posting is coming soon and will be free for customers. If you are a skip hire company in Cheshire you can register your interest in the Launch 500 now, with 2 months free and no card needed.
