What we collect through our forms, why, how long we keep it, and your rights. No cookies, no trackers, and we never sell your data.
Last updated: 2 October 20261. Who we are
This policy explains how QuoteZila handles personal data collected through quotezila.com. QuoteZila is the controller of that data. QuoteZila is operated by its owner.
QuoteZila, 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX (correspondence address for data protection queries)Email: contact@quotezila.com
We follow the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you have any question about your data, contact us at the address above.
2. What we collect and why
Contact form
What: your name, email address and the message you write. Why: to read and reply to you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (or steps you ask us to take before a possible agreement).
Launch 500 sign-up form (businesses)
What: business name, contact name, email address, phone number, base postcode, town (optional), main trade, how far you travel, and your tick-box consent. Why: to register your interest, decide whether and where we can offer you a place, and contact you about QuoteZila and the platform launch. Lawful basis: your consent (the tick box) to be contacted, and our legitimate interest in running the sign-up list. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Technical data on form submissions
What: your IP address and browser details (user agent), stored with each submission. Why: to prevent spam and abuse, including rate-limiting repeated submissions. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
Server logs
Like most websites, the web server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, time, page requested and browser) for security and troubleshooting.
We do not ask for special category data, and we do not collect card or payment details.
3. Where your data is stored and who sees it
Form submissions are stored in a database on the server that hosts this website, and a notification email containing the details you submitted is sent to contact@quotezila.com. Access is limited to the QuoteZila owner and anyone they authorise to help run the project.
We use service providers only to run the site and send that email (for example hosting and email delivery). They process data on our behalf and only as needed. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose data if the law requires it. If any provider processes data outside the UK, we will make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.
4. How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 12 months after our last reply, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Launch 500 sign-ups: until your business has joined or declined after launch, and no longer than 24 months from sign-up, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or withdraw consent.
- Technical data and logs: kept with the submission it relates to, and standard server logs for a short period.
5. Cookies and tracking
This website does not set any cookies and does not use analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking scripts. Fonts and all other files are served from our own server, not from third parties. Because there are no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.
6. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be informed about how your data is used; access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased; restrict or object to our use of it; data portability where it applies; and withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect past use).
To use any of these rights, email contact@quotezila.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
7. Children
The site is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect data, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, a restricted-access database and rate-limiting. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the forms.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when QuoteZila launches fully or when how we use data changes. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version. See also our Terms and Conditions.
